Our next concert is on Saturday June 8th 2013 at 8pm in Lancaster Cathedral
The Pro Nobis Singers are a Chamber Choir specialising in early music, and music of the 20th Century. The Choir numbers approximately thirty singers and draws its membership from Kendal and South Cumbria. The Choir includes singers of all ages and backgrounds and we have a small number of promising young singers in their late-teens who are given free membership of the choir in order to give them good choral experience before they move on to higher education, and perhaps a career in music.
We are delighted to announce that the distinguished Early Music specialist, Evelyn Tubb, described recently as 'one of the outstanding sopranos of her generation', has agreed to become the first Honorary President of the choir. Pro Nobis has collaborated on 3 recent enjoyable performances with Evelyn, the last in August 2011 when we provided the chorus for Dido and Aeneas in Keswick as the closing peformance of the Lake District Summer Music Festival.
The choir celebrated its 40th birthday with an anniversary concert in Kendal Parish Church on Saturday 13th June 2009.
Recent performances have included:
• Swaledale Festival, 2006 & 2007
• Lake District Summer Music Festival, August 2008, August 2009, August 2010 and August 2011 when we provided the chorus for Dido and Aeneas with Evelyn Tubb
• Concerts in Lancaster Cathedral (2007 and 2011) and Cartmel Priory (2008 and 2011)
• The choir provided the chorus for English Touring Opera's Kendal performance of Handel’s opera, Teseo, in 2007.

Handel: Acis and Galatea; Chandos Anthems
